FACILITIES AVAILABLE
The School for Enrolled Nurses and Midwives has lots of facilities that enable a conducive living
and learning environment for students, some of which are highlighted below:
Dormitories
The boarding school has five dormitory blocks (Dorm A, B, C, HSS, and Midwifery Block) where students share rooms, with two students per room. Importantly, there are restrictions on males and females visiting each other’s dormitories.
Food
The school provides three daily meals cooked by in-house chefs, served in a well-equipped dining hall at the center of the campus, equipped with amenities like television, satellite TV receiver, freezers, and ample seating.
Free Internet
Free and unlimited internet access is provided to all students for learning purposes, allowing them to browse class topics, complete assignments, and communicate with family and friends. The internet is available from 2 pm to 8 am daily, contingent on electricity availability. summarize
Sports
The campus features a Volleyball Lawn, with a Basketball Lawn currently under construction. A nearby football field, approximately 300m away, is used by both students and lecturers for football. Indoor games are played at the student Bantaba or Recreational Center.
Mosque
The school has a mosque located near the second gate toward the hospital, led by a student Imam. While there isn’t a church on campus, Christian students attend a nearby church approximately 600m away every Sunday for worship
Library
The school’s library requires significant improvements, particularly in updating its outdated book collection. We are in need of additional books to enhance and modernize the library resources.
Standby Generator
The school is equipped with a standby generator that ensures a continuous supply of electricity in the event of a NAWEC outage. This backup system helps maintain uninterrupted power for essential functions on campus.
Bansang Hospital
Since the school’s inception, we have maintained a partnership with the hospital, which functions as a teaching hospital for our students in various practical modules, including basic nursing, medical and surgical, obstetrics, gynaecology, and paediatrics.
Multipurpose Hall
The Hall, aptly named for its versatility, hosts various school programs and comfortably accommodates the entire student body. Its spacious design includes a stage and podium, facilitating speeches and presentations during events.
Recreational Center
This expansive open area serves as a spacious hall-like space designed for various outdoor activities. Its layout accommodates events and gatherings that benefit from an open and flexible environment.
Hand Pump
The covered well, functioning as a hand pump, serves as an alternative water source when NAWEC water is unavailable. It provides a reliable contingency for ensuring access to water in such circumstances.
Bakery
Our community engages in the process of baking our own bread, fostering a sense of self-sufficiency. This homemade bread is enjoyed by the members of our community, creating a shared and wholesome culinary experience.
Mobility
The school have two fleets of Air conditioned 16 seater Vans use mainly for student
transportation to and from practical and community field experience as well as other school
activities.
